Click the button in the Navigation Bar (the blue bar at the top of the screen).
- You can either upload a Document or enter a link (URL).
-
Upload Document: To upload a document click the
button. A dialog box opens up allowing you to select files from a vast array of sources. We currently support uploading files from your computer, various cloud services (Google Drive, Box, Dropbox, SkyDrive, Alfresco, Gmail, Evernote) and a wide range of Image sources. Files from cloud services will stay in sync without the need for a re-upload, so any changes your make will be automatically picked up by ContentSift. Files uploaded from your computer will be stored and served from our servers.
-
Enter a link: Paste a link in the text box provided. ContentSift will automatically detect and extract the title, description and images from the link. If you plan to primarily upload links to ContentSift then we have a bookmarklet that will make the uploading process easy for you. You can drag the
button to your browser bookmarks bar for easy access to Upload links.
-
Customise: Customise the title, description and cover image. Add a note for your team to read (this is particularly useful if you want to capture the content brief). Select 'Organise by Topics' to bring up a drop down menu from where you can organise by Topics that you created earlier. You can also create new Groups and Topics from here. If you are dealing with time sensitive content you can set an 'Expiry Date' after which the content will be archived and not appear in the Content Feed or in Sifts. Don't forget to click the
button to save the Content and continue to the next step.
- Add To Sift: A Sift is a landing page created for sharing Content with your audience. ContentSift creates Sifts based on Roles (Sales, Customer, etc.) and content added to these Sifts become accessible to users in your system with the respective roles. You can also create new Sifts and selectively share these with your stakeholders. If sharing to Social Media is important to you then consider including two or three updates for your stakeholders to choose from. This makes it really easy for your audience to quickly share your content on their social networks. We currently support sharing via Email, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ and Facebook. Don't forget to click the
button to complete the step.
Publish: If you are uploading a document then you will see a 4th step called Publish. If you are uploading a link then this is not relevant since a link has already been published and is accessible. You can access the instructions to Create an external landing page to share your uploaded Document to learn how to publish a document.
